GriefShare
Support Group
FORGIVENESS. FREEDOM. FAITH.
One of our ministries is the GriefShare Recovery Support Group in Elberton.
GriefShare provides a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where individuals are surrounded by leaders and peers who truly understand the complex emotions of bereavement.
Navigating the Unpredictability of Loss
Moving through the loss of a loved one can be one of life’s most difficult and isolating challenges.
To provide comfort, practical guidance, and community support, Fortsonia Baptist Church offers GriefShare grief recovery support group meetings.
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding a loss, grief is often an overwhelming, confusing, and painful journey. GriefShare provides a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where individuals are surrounded by leaders and peers who truly understand the complex emotions of bereavement.
Because grief does not follow neat, predictable stages, the 13-week curriculum focuses on helping attendees discover what is "normal" in grief, equipping them with constructive coping strategies, and providing steady encouragement every step of the way.
What to Expect Each Week
Each weekly session is structured around three vital components designed to foster healing and personal growth:

-
Supportive Small-Group Discussions: A confidential setting where participants can interact, share their personal experiences, talk through challenges, and discuss insights from the weekly video.
-
Personal Workbook & Study Guide: Each participant receives a comprehensive take-home guide filled with daily reflection exercises, journaling prompts, and practical tools to assist with personal grief processing.
